No, you do not get charged. However, TryFundMe will deduct a fee of 5% per donation made and our payment processing partner charges up to 3% fees per transaction. For more information, check out the Pricing Page.

Yes, we accept donations from all over the world.

You do NOT need a Tryfundme account to make a donation. You can make direct donations by clicking the ‘Donate’ button on any fundraising page.

Yes, TryFundMe processes donations through Stripe, MangoPay and PayPal. Stripe, MangoPay and PayPal are not affiliated with TryFundMe. They are all PCI Level 1 Compliant (that's the best). Stripe, MangoPay and PayPal use industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

Making a Donation

Yes, all you have to do is to directly contact the campaign organizer for updates or check the ‘Updates’ section on the fundraising page.

With numerous live campaigns, it's not feasible for TryFundMe to investigate the claims stated by each Campaign Organizer. Rather, we provide visitors with the tools to make an informed decision as to who they choose to support. While TryFundMe and its payment partners do provide a number of safeguards to stop fraud, we must insist that visitors follow the advice stated on each and every campaign. "Only donate to people you personally know & trust."

Yes, you can. We highly recommend that you make a donation to your own fundraising campaign. Simply because when your friends see that you're investing your time and also your money to the cause you care about, they'll be encouraged to donate too.

Simply go to your own Fundraising page, click the "Donate" button and follow the prompts.

When you're ready to make a donation, click the "DONATE" button and then select the " Hide name and comment from everyone but the organizer" checkbox. Your donation will show up on the TryFundMe website under the name "Anonymous." Your information is shared with the fundraiser, charity and/or event organizer but is hidden from the public campaign page.

Fundraising Basics

Although optional, we highly recommend that you connect with your Facebook which makes is very easy for you to share your campaign with others. A valid Facebook account is required for all campaigns that wish to appear within TryFundMe's Public Search Directory. Do not worry, we'll never post anything to your Facebook account unless authorised by you.

While you can choose to hide your campaign from appearing in TryFundMe's Public Search Directory, anyone who has your TryFundMe campaign link will be able to access your campaign. There's no way to keep your campaign 100% private.

You'll receive an email notification each time a donation is made to your Fundraising campaign.

No problem. With TryFundMe, you keep each and every donation you receive. Reaching your goal is not required.

While it's free to create and share your fundraising campaign, TryFundMe will deduct a 5% fee from each donation that you receive. Since our fee is deducted automatically, you'll never need to worry about being billed or owing us any money. A small processing fee of about 3% will also be deducted from each donation by our payment processing partners. Please check out Pricing & Fees for more info.

Beware of some services that claim to be 100% Free when they actually charge your donors.

You can set up a fundraising campaign to benefit either a Registered Charity or you can set up a fundraising campaign linked to your bank account to raise money to help a personal cause. For instance, you can raise funds for someone who was has medical bills he/she cannot afford to pay, to assist in educational costs.

Bear in mind that Fundraising campaigns created that benefit off of a crime violate our Terms and Conditions and will be removed.

Raising money for a charity means that you are setting up a fundraising campaign to benefit a registered non-profit/charity organization. The money you raise will go directly to the charity you choose and we take care of transferring the funds to the charity. Very Simple.

Raising money for a person means that you are setting up a fundraising to benefit any cause for good of your choice. Could be anything from medical bills, to a person you know who's in need, an animal, tuition, a volunteer trip, recovery from an accident, wedding, etc. When you choose to set up this type of fundraising campaign, you are required to attach your bank account to the fundraiser and are responsible for getting the funds to the person or cause that you're raising money for.

Nope. TryFundMe has no time-limits or deadlines. Your campaign will remain live until you choose to stop donations or remove the campaign altogether. Most users leave their campaigns live indefinitely as a lasting memory of all the wonderful comments and support they received.

Managing your campaign

You can thank your donor on the 'Updates' section on your campaign page or send individual thank-you emails.

Nothing at all, you keep everything. It goes the other way around too, there are no fines or penalties if you do not reach your target.

Almost. You CAN raise money for personal causes that are meaningful, inspiring and exciting to others. You SHOULDN'T break any local laws, expect strangers to buy you stuff or promote inappropriate content.

Every TryFundMe campaign is given a unique link (you can even customize this link) that's easy to share with your friends and family on all your social media platforms.

Social Proof: TryFundMe is fully integrated with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn to help you promote your fundraiser. Individuals are more likely to give to a Charity/Non-profit if family, friends, or colleagues personally ask for support.

10 donors start 10 campaigns, they each attract 10 donors to their page, hence creating a 10x impact in the donor base as well as the money raised.

TryFundMe is a social enterprise whose primary purpose is to empower people to do good. To have long lasting impact, we want to be sustainable; hence we retain a small percentage of the funds raised per campaign, mainly to cover a fraction of our operating costs. Just to give you an idea, accepting online payments requires third-party payment processors and taxes.   • TryFundMe is a platform that empowers anyone to give to or start social fundraisers Globally. One of our differentiating points is to convert donors into fundraisers for various non-profits that have the highest impact, transparency, and passion to serve the community.

  • To raise funds on TryFundMe, all Charities/Non-profits have to go through a due diligence process and submit essential information about their organization. We take around 1-3 days from receipt of information to carefully screen all Charities/non-profits and contact you for more information or clarifications (if required).

  • After a Charity/Non-profit is approved, TryFundMe verifies the account and let it their page go live. The approved Charity/Non-profit can create campaigns and can have its supporters create campaigns on their behalf and start raising funds.

Your donations are 100% safe, all donations are processed through PCI-certified auditors who are certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available. The donated money goes instantly and directly to you, we do not hold or handle any money.

Most applications will be active the same day. However, there are times where we need to run extra checks which can take up to 3 working days.

Yes, TryFundMe is available to UK registered charities that have a valid charity number issued to them by the Charity Commission, OSCR or Northern Ireland Charity Commission.

You will be able to get email notification anytime there is a new fundraiser or donor.

We will require charities to provide us with their bank details so we our partners can process money into their accounts.

Yes. You can be able to customise your TryFundMe page by using your own logo, colours and even have a few banners as per your requirements. You are in total control of the media updates and the appearance of your page. Here are just but a few of the things you can do
